Berkeley Inn
About This Spot
Stepping into Berkeley Inn feels like slipping into a spirited neighborhood gathering where the noise hums with friendly competition and laughter. It’s the sort of raw, unpretentious spot that thrives on energy—crowded, lively, and brimming with a mix of locals and newcomers ready to share a night’s adventure. Here, time seems to slow just enough to be present to the bustle but always moves with the steady beat of good music and the occasional cheer from the pool table or a karaoke microphone.
The atmosphere is colored by a comfortable dive bar warmth—a bit grainy, a touch loud, and full of familiar faces swapping stories or sizing up the next round of drinks. Bartenders move with a practiced ease, attentive and quick with a smile or a recommendation that fits the moment perfectly. It’s the kind of staff that feels like old friends without the years of history, creating a connection that makes every visit feel less like patronage and more like being a part of something casual and well-loved.
The vibe here offers something deliciously genuine: a place where the unexpected always feels welcome. Whether you’re nursing a thoughtfully mixed Irish Breakfast Drop Shot or competing with strangers over video golf in the back, moments unfold naturally—uncrafted memories that stick with you long after the neon lights dim. The buzz around the buzzy photo booth captures those snapshots of joy perfectly, freezing laughter and camaraderie into little tokens for the morning-after smiles.
Berkeley Inn’s charm is found in its embrace of the lively and the imperfect. It’s the kind of bar where divey isn’t a drawback but a badge of honor, and cheap drinks invite you to stay just a little longer, share a little more, and let the night carry you through its easy, unscripted joy.

The bartender is amazing. Never wanted for anything. Super communicative and smart. Loved talking to her. #theberkeleyinn @theberkeleyinn #buzzybooth

Came here spontaneously one night with my friends while it was busy and had an incredible time! Staff were friendly and drinks are reasonable in pricing. 10/10 will be coming back again for some sick dive bar vibes. Bartender Mary was incredible!!

So fun at Berkeley Inn! Kareoke was the highlight of the evening and being able to play some pool with complete strangers is always a good time! But I love being able to take such fun pictures with the buzzy booth! Always fun memories when you look at them the next morning! #theberkeleyinn @theberkeleyinn #buzzybooth

Fun spot if you wanna get lit! It’s dive-y, crowded, loud, and intense. But they’ve got fun karaoke, cheap drinks, and a bunch of bar games. Great spot if you’re looking for a cheap fun night!

I went to Berkeley Inn on a Saturday night for the first time and had a blast! They have a great divey atmosphere, inexpensive drinks, and a really nice staff. There's pool and video golf in the back, plus karaoke going on (at least on saturdays). Note that they are starting a 3% service charge on cards in August (edited per comment) if that's an issue for you.

This place is awesome! I went for karaoke night with a bunch of friends. It was a really fun time. They have a good crowd and it's no surprise they have a line to get in. Go for cheap drinks and good times.

The perfect dive bar, all. They get great live music in house. They have pool tables, golf games, a cool patio, and the regulars and staff are both welcoming. We usually go here to play pool or do karaoke, but don't forget they also have the NFL Sunday Ticket too, so you can watch your game with elbow room and space. Tarin and Mary are both attentive and efficient bartenders. They have treated my wife and I great since we first walked in. I also just found out that this place just won the Westword award for Best Dive Bar in Denver for 2022. Met Andrew, the owner, right after and he is great too. They will make you pizza if you need it, but just hit a dinner place on Tennyson (great street) and then hit up this place for the remainder of your evening. Love, love, love this place. You will too. "NEXT" VISIT (with 100 in between): I feel I need to update this review to pound my point home. This IS the best dive bar in Denver. No food, so don't ask for it. Dive bar. Pool table, great staff, GTee, Karaoke, live music, great owner (Andrew), back door for smokers, and they now even own the ultimate in dive bar lore. An Adjective-Animal bar in the Fainting Goat. New location. Both locations offer great outside after-shot venues. Downtown is always cool, of course. Tennyson is such a cool street, Mary served us today and was awesome, and Alyssa is awesome in her own rite. Alyssa greets regulars like family, and we always appreciate it. Andrew got some new pool sticks, so sharks like me can be better, jukebox works, but you will still have people on their couch changing the songs...technology. I haven't been to the Fainting Goat since I worked down the street, but I assume Andrew either ramped up the menu, or didn't diminish it. I remember the burger being WELL above par. If you are local and haven't been either place, then you are missing out. If you are visiting and haven't put either place in the itinerary, then you are missing out. Definitely recommend and see you there (actually, you probably might). Oh, and if you run into this guy playing pool, or me, you probably will lose (we actually played that whole game with crutches). Or, just put us on your team would be the easier route to happiness.
